update

Sorry I have not updated in awhile. Been pretty busy and tired. Drywall has been finished and primed with paint. Mike sprayed it on last wednesday and I rolled it out. Then I painted the color on our bedroom and the laundry/pantry area. Have some nice new white cabinets to put in there with a countertop to fold clothes on. Still have no hot water but the boiler system is about ready to go. That will provide hot water and floor heat. Mike and Jeremy spent the last two days trying to finish up the high work outside around the front gable windows. A real pain to work on since they can't stand on the metal roofing. They used the backhoe bucket to make a platform to work from. There is just a little bit of outside work to finish and the outside will be done.

It is unreal how nice the weather has been this year, the other day it was almost 60 degrees in January. Most days have been about 40, so nice for this time of the year.

DRYWALL

Now we are really cooking !! In 3 days we put up our drywall (150 sheets) whooo hooo. Thanks of course to great family and  friends, Jeremy, Mike Chris Sam Phillip Tim Don Heather Danielle Janet Lizzie Mary Samantha Peter Victoria India Owen. I think that covers everyone that came.Plus Mark and I of course. Now we will have it taped and finished as soon as we can. Hope to have an inside potty in the next couple days. MAYBE even hot water in the next couple weeks. The light at the end of the tunnel is looking much brighter.

little stuff

So things are still happening in small ways. Some plumbing, some electrical, some insulation, some outside work like driveway covered up (yeah no mud). and a little landscaping with some great shrubs I bought on sale.
Trying to get ready for drywall in a few weeks. Also working on bathroom in garage, getting ready to tile the shower. We do have our septic system done and ready to use. Still need some heat, hot water......
But we are making progress, a little every day.

Moving along

First of all, if you ever ever have the thought go through your mind about building a house.......get rid of it !!!!

I only am half serious about that. Ok so the roof is done, love it ! siding about 90% done. Working on wiring and putting in the teeny bathroom in the garage. Our plan is to be ready for drywalling thanksgiving weekend but just heard we might have a remodel at our KH that week, eeekkkk. Painted the outside of my front door last  week. Love it. Last night had an interesting experience, picture this..... Dark, windy, rainy night.....umbrella, flashlight and outside porta potty. ;-) I need to take a picture of our little blue outhouse and post it soon. There you have it.

Moved into the trailer again......close to the house so we can work more. Have about 3/4 of the siding done. Roofers may come this week (hope hope). Going to start working on the small bathroom in the garage, need a spetic system put in and wiring done ASAP. There you have it.

8.28.2011 update

Ok so now some stuff is definitely happening. The roofers are supposed to come this week, whoo hoo
.We have the east and south sides sided. Amerin hooked up our gas line yesterday. We started moving things to the trailer and will move in by thursday this week. So moving along again.

Sorry I know it has been months since I have written. The reason is nothing really has happened. We do have water run and in the garage now ! Whoo hoo. Still waiting for electric. Soon as that happens we are moving back into our little cozy trailer.
Things will be starting again and hopefully move right along. We are finishing our negotiations on roofer to put on the roof and we hope to have a big siding party in two weeks. Mark is getting started on some of the wiring.
